Moulton College Learning Resource Centre
Welcome to Moulton College Learning Resource Centres
The College has Learning Resource Centres (LRCs) at the Moulton Main Site, East Northants, South Northants and Daventry Vocational Skills Academies and at the Peterborough Centre. The LRCs offer a range of services including libraries, careers advice, learning support, study space, DVD/video players, access to software packages and the internet via desktop and laptop computers.
Resources
All the LRCs hold collections of books, videos, DVDs, pamphlets, journals, newspapers, trade literature and useful online resources. The collections are regularly updated to reflect the curriculum. LRC and teaching staff work closely together to ensure that suitable materials are available for the completion of assignments and project work.
Every item in the library can be searched online via the Library Catalogue.
Information Technology (IT)
There are computer suites in each of the LRCs providing access to network drives, internet and Moodle and to printers, copiers and scanners. Specialist software includes AutoCAD, horse management, farm management, garden design, accounting, statistics and mind mapping programs. The Moulton LRC offers IT access for 240 students, including a designated IT area for Higher Education (HE) students.
Learning Support
Learning Support is available to any student who needs additional support on their course. Learning Support is located in the LRCs on the Main Site and at the Vocational Skills Academies. Students can speak to any member of the team and discuss their support requirements.
Careers Advice
The Careers Centre contains a Connexions Access Point. There is computer access and a comprehensive range of careers advice materials and databases. Specialist advisors, including Connexions Personal Advisors are available to give impartial advice on career choices or alternative career routes.
